A painted face turns a child into the character completely, which is why face painting is the queue at every party. Tattoos do much the same in ten seconds and without a brush in sight. Both wash off, which is the point everyone remembers afterwards.
Doing it well
A damp sponge lays down the base colour and a thin brush adds the detail, which is really all the technique required. Transfer tattoos need firm pressure and a properly wet cloth held for half a minute. Test any product on the inside of the arm first if your child's skin is sensitive.
