Jigsaw Puzzles 100 to 200 Pieces
Jigsaw puzzles of a hundred to two hundred pieces are the step after the simple children's puzzles. They usually suit children from about six to nine, depending on how much experience a child already has with puzzling.
A puzzle that fits
At this number of pieces a puzzle is no longer finished in five minutes, but nor is it so large that a child gives up halfway. It is usually done in one or two sittings, which is just enough to get the feeling of finishing something. Versions with larger pieces at this count suit the younger end of the range.
Puzzling together helps
At this age children learn a method: first the edges, then sorting by colour, then filling in. Sitting alongside for the first ten minutes is often enough to get a child going.
