Finger puppets are small figures you slide over a fingertip, so that one hand can make a whole company talk. They come in fabric, felt and wood, with animals, fairy-tale characters and family members as themes.
Small, but strong on language
Because several puppets fit on one hand at the same time, a conversation between characters arises by itself. That makes finger puppets well suited to retelling stories, and to drawing out children who do not much like speaking.
What to look at
Puppets with small loose parts do not belong with children under three. Fabric puppets can usually go in a wash bag at thirty degrees. They also fit neatly in a coat pocket for a long journey.
