Train Wagons and Carriages
Wagons for a wooden train: passenger carriages, goods wagons, tankers, tipper wagons, crane cars and cargo pieces.
Making up a train
Choosing which wagons go behind the engine is most of the game, and the order matters a great deal to a four-year-old. Goods wagons with removable cargo give a reason to travel from one station to the next. Coupling and uncoupling magnets is quiet fine motor practice at the same time.
Mixing brands
Almost all wooden systems use magnetic couplings, so wagons from different makers generally run together. Check the polarity if two pieces push each other away, as turning one round usually solves it. Single wagons are the ideal small present for a set that already exists.
