Lyra Modelling and Accessories
This category holds the modelling material and the drawing accessories from Lyra: clay and modelling wax, modelling tools, sharpeners, erasers and tins to keep it all in. Lyra is a German house from Nuremberg that has made drawing and writing materials since 1806.
Modelling with your hands
Kneading trains the hands and fingers in a way no other material matches. A child works with both hands at once, feels resistance and sees a result immediately. Modelling wax softens with the warmth of the hands, which makes it well suited to young children.
The right accessories
A good sharpener makes all the difference with thick triangular pencils, which do not fit an ordinary school sharpener. An eraser that does not smudge and a tin that keeps everything together are the other two things worth having.
