Giotto Stationery
Giotto is the drawing and writing brand of the Italian house Fila and is used in a great many schools. Stationery covers the colouring pencils, felt pens, wax crayons and graphite pencils, in versions that differ by age.
Thick first, thinner later
A toddler still holds a pencil in a whole fist and needs a thick, short pen for that reason. The triangular shape steers thumb, index finger and middle finger to the right place by themselves. From about six a child can move on to ordinary thinner pencils.
Washable and safe
Many Giotto articles for young children wash out of skin and most textiles, and the inks and pigments meet the European toy safety standard. That is the reason so many classrooms work with them.
