What a good case has
The most important part is a raised rim all round the screen, so the glass does not touch the ground when the tablet lands flat. A shock-absorbing outer layer takes the blow, and a handle lets a child hold it firmly. Look as well for cut-outs at the camera, the buttons and the charging port.
Which model fits
Cases are made for one particular iPad generation and size, so check the model number on the back of the tablet before choosing. A case that is slightly too large slides about, and that undoes the point of the raised rim.
