Hurling Balls
The sliotar is the ball used in hurling and camogie: a small ball with a cork or rubber core and a ribbed leather outer that gives extra grip when striking.
Match or training
Match sliotars have a leather cover with a raised rim seam and meet the GAA measurements. Training balls are made of a synthetic material or rubber, last longer on hard ground and work out cheaper by the set.
Sizes and colours
There are sizes for youth players and for adults, with younger players using a lighter ball. White sliotars are the standard, while yellow and orange versions stay easier to follow in the evening and on wet grass.
