Play Silks
Play silks are large cloths of real silk, dyed with child-safe colours. They have no pattern, no character and no fixed purpose, which is exactly what makes them useful: a cloth becomes whatever the game needs it to be.
One cloth, a hundred things
The same square is a cloak, a river, a roof over two chairs, a blanket for a doll or the sea around an island. Because nothing is printed on it, a child is never corrected by the material itself, and the game can change halfway through without anyone having to fetch something else.
Light and quick to move
Silk is thin and slides easily, so even a small child can knot it, drape it or pull it through a gap. It creases rather than tears, folds down to almost nothing and washes gently by hand.
