Paintbrushes
A good brush is the difference between a blot and a line. This category holds flat brushes for filling areas, round brushes for lines and detail, and sponge brushes for laying down large surfaces and texture.
Which shape for which job
A flat brush covers ground quickly and leaves a straight edge. A round brush tapers to a point and is meant for thin lines and small details. For children a set of three to five sizes is usually enough to cover everything they will want to paint.
Cleaning and keeping them
Rinse brushes in lukewarm water straight after use, wipe them dry and stand them in a beaker with the bristles upwards. Never leave a brush resting on its tip in water, because the hairs bend and never straighten again.
