Toy Sea Animals
Sea animals for play: dolphins, whales, sharks, turtles, octopuses and rays as single figures and in sets.
The bath and beyond
Sea animals are one of the few figure sets that work equally well in the bath, the sandpit and on the carpet. Painted solid figures take water without swelling or losing colour if they are dried afterwards. A whale next to a dolphin makes size differences obvious in a way no picture manages.
Learning what lives where
Sorting animals into shallow water, open sea and deep sea gives a young child a first sense of habitat. Sharks and rays are usually the ones asked for, but a turtle and an octopus start the better conversations. Look for sets that mix familiar animals with one or two a child has never seen.
