Auris
Auris makes musical instruments on anthroposophic principles: pentatonic chime bars, children's harps, lyres, flutes and singing bowls with a pure, gentle tone.
Pentatonic, so nothing sounds wrong
Auris instruments are usually tuned to a pentatonic scale, which means any combination of notes sounds right together. A child can therefore play freely without producing a discord, and that single fact is what keeps them experimenting instead of stopping.
Waldorf schools and music teaching
The instruments are widely used in Waldorf schools and in music education. They are made of wood and metal and, kept properly, last for decades, which is why they are often passed down.
