Play Shop Accessories
Everything for the toy shop: tills, scales, shopping baskets, trolleys, play money, scanners and price signs.
Shopping is counting in disguise
A till and some play money turn a game into arithmetic that nobody objects to doing. Weighing, paying and giving change all get practised because the game requires it. Two children can play different roles, which keeps it going far longer than solo play.
What makes a shop work
A till with a drawer and money is the starting point; scales and a basket are what make it feel real. Play food from your kitchen doubles as stock, so nothing extra is needed at first. Check that the money is large enough not to disappear under the sofa on day one.
