Insect Soft Toys
Soft toy bees, butterflies, ladybirds, caterpillars, beetles and spiders, from baby-soft versions to lifelike models.
Small animals, close to home
Insects are the wildlife children actually meet, in the garden and on the windowsill, which makes a cuddly version oddly satisfying. A bee or a ladybird is often a first favourite because the colours are so clear. Caterpillars work well as baby toys, since they are long and easy to grip.
Choosing one
For babies, look for soft wings and embroidered eyes, with nothing that can be pulled off. Older children often prefer something closer to the real thing, with proper markings. Check the seams where wings and legs are attached, because those take the most pulling.
