Painting Aprons and Accessories
Accessories for painting: aprons and smocks, palettes, mixing trays, brush pots, water cups, sponges and rollers.
Fewer reasons to say no
Most of the reluctance to get the paint out comes down to clothes and the table, and an apron and a wipeable mat solve both. A child who is properly covered is also a child who paints with more confidence. It changes painting from an event into something that can happen on a Tuesday.
Small things that help
A palette with wells keeps colours separate, which is how a child learns to mix on purpose rather than by accident. A non-tip water pot prevents the single most common accident at the painting table. Sponges and rollers open up ways of working that a brush alone does not.
