Choroi
Choroi makes musical instruments for Steiner schools and music therapy: pentatonic flutes, lyres, chime bars and small stringed instruments with a clear, gentle tone.
Flutes and lyres
The pentatonic flute is for many children the first wind instrument they ever hold, because only notes that agree with one another are available on it. The children's harps and lyres sound softly and can be tuned by the person who plays them, without a workshop being needed.
Made by hand
The instruments are built in small workshops, many of which also provide sheltered employment. They are made to last for years rather than for a season, and a well-kept lyre is often passed on to a younger child in the family.
