Wooden Name Trains
Wooden letter trains: a locomotive with carriages carrying the letters of a name, with extra letters, numbers and figures.
A name spelled out in wood
A letter train is one of the classic presents for a birth, because it carries the child's name and doubles as a toy. Younger children push it around; older ones start recognising the letters as their own. It also looks good on a shelf between games.
Ordering the right letters
Count the letters in the name and order one carriage per letter, plus the locomotive. Extra numbers are useful for a birthday or a birth date on the same track. Check that the letters come from the same range, since sizes and colours differ between brands.
