Which count for which age
As a guide: 15 to 24 pieces from three years, 35 to 60 pieces from four to five, 100 pieces from six and 200 to 300 pieces from eight. If a child puzzles a great deal you may safely choose a step higher.

The XXL series has the same picture with larger pieces, so a bigger image can still be handled by smaller hands. That is useful for a child that wants the grown-up picture but not yet the grown-up piece size.
